Recommendation & Lessons Learned

Recommendation

Quality is a term used by customers to describe their general satisfaction with service or product. When customers come into Walgreens they should be greeted by the cashier. Some elderly customers always get lost or turned around when entering the store. Also, some customers might need help in certain departments of the store such as photo or cosmetics employees should be able to assist and recommend certain products for the customer.
Process Strategy is the pattern of decisions made in managing processes so that they will achieve their competitive priorities. Customer contract matrix would be front office. Cashiers and Pharmacy Techs are always in direct contact with customers.

Operations Planning and Scheduling is the process of balancing supply with demand, from the aggregate level down to the short-term scheduling level. Walgreens uses the Level system, the store manager schedules employees based on when they are available and how many workers might be needed based off of last years report for the day and time. Which should be modified because of factors if the previous year there was a hurricane or snow storm on that day the totals will not add up.

Lessons Learned

Our takeaways from this project are:

Customers focus is very important because they are the ones that keep a business running. It is imperative to listen to customer’s demand, for without them we do not have job so don’t our suppliers as well as theirs.

Always make ethical decisions because they are vitals for a business’s survival. ( walgreens debut first net zero energy in 2013) The idea behind the Net Zero Energy stores is to operate a store that generates more energy than it consumed. By doing that, the company will be able to make the planet more livable in reducing pollution and conserving resources.
